Location When In Use only

BenchBite requests location access while you are using the app so it can center the map and show nearby results.

Purchases Apple handles payments

BenchBite Pro purchases run through Apple’s StoreKit and App Store infrastructure, not directly through us.

Advertising No ad tracking design

BenchBite is not designed to track you across apps or websites for advertising purposes.

What BenchBite Does

BenchBite helps users find supermarkets, food retailers, and nearby mapped seating and amenities. The app uses map, search, and optional purchase features to provide this functionality.

Information We Access

BenchBite may access the following information depending on how you use the app:

  • Location data, if you grant location permission while using the app.
  • Search text that you type into the app.
  • App settings and preferences stored on your device.
  • App Store purchase and restore information related to BenchBite Pro.

Location Information

BenchBite requests When In Use location access so the app can help center the map and find nearby results while you are using the app.

You can deny location access and continue using other parts of the app, although some nearby features may be less useful or less convenient.

How Information Is Used

We use the information above to:

  • Show your nearby area on the map.
  • Search for food retailers and mapped seating.
  • Save your app settings and preferences.
  • Enable, verify, and restore optional BenchBite Pro purchases.
  • Cache certain map-related results on your device so the app can load faster.

Third-Party Services

BenchBite relies on Apple platform services and external map data services to provide core features.

Depending on the feature you use, information may be sent to:

  • Apple services used by iOS, such as location, maps, and App Store purchase infrastructure.
  • OpenStreetMap and Overpass API services used to look up mapped seating and food-retailer data.
If you tap a feature that opens another app or website, such as Apple Maps or an OpenStreetMap webpage, your interaction with that external service is governed by that service’s own terms and privacy practices.

In-App Purchases

BenchBite offers optional In-App Purchases for BenchBite Pro through Apple’s StoreKit and App Store infrastructure.

We do not process your payment card details directly. Apple handles payment processing, purchase verification, and restore flows for In-App Purchases.

Data Stored On Your Device

BenchBite stores some information locally on your device, including:

  • App settings and preferences.
  • Cached map-related results.
  • Optional trip-planning data you choose to keep locally.

This local storage is used to support the app’s features and improve responsiveness.

Tracking And Advertising

BenchBite is not designed to track you across apps or websites for advertising purposes.

BenchBite does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs based on the current version of the app.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We only share data as needed to provide the app’s features, such as sending map or search-related requests to the services described above, or when required by law.

Data Retention

Information stored locally on your device generally remains there until:

  • You clear the app’s caches or data inside the app, if that option is available.
  • You delete the app.
  • A cached entry expires and the app removes it automatically.

Purchase records are managed through Apple’s App Store systems.

Children’s Privacy

BenchBite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
